Backwell School is pleased to offer members of the local community the opportunity to join one of a number of evening courses being held at the school each year running from September to June.
Over 220 students have enrolled on courses this year, many returning for the fifth year. Feedback from students has been very positive with many commenting on the good organisation and the relaxed and friendly atmosphere of the courses. They commented that the tutors are excellent teaching to a high standard, finding time for personal attention and inspiring students to move on and develop their skills.
All courses are leisure courses with the emphasis on learning in an enjoyable and supportive environment with paper work kept to a minimum. Popular courses include Creative Writing, Fabric and Textile Crafts, Print Making, Languages, Photography and Art on Mondays.
The January 2012 programme is now available with additional courses being added to the already busy programme. New courses this year include Interior Design, Ceramics, European History of Art, Cookery, Floristry, Felt Making, Screen Printing, Portraiture, Stained Glass and Sugarcraft courses. 1st response will also be running a series of First Aid courses, including Sports First Aid and Parenting First Aid, until March.
