Children 8 and above
Children were able to choose from a large number of activities such as football with Bristol City Football Club, dance, cycle training, pottery, drama, film-making, West End dance, Bollywood dance and beauty plus many others. Mendip Outdoor Pursuits and Young Bristol put on its usual exciting range of outdoor activities such as caving, archery and water sports.
The students on the Bollywood courses were able to become Bollywood stars for the day. Mita Gadher showed students how to do their nails, apply henna and dressed them in beautiful and colourful Indian saris. They were then able to learn the graceful dance moves of Bollywood with tutor Charlotte McConnell of Inspirasian Dance.
Children who participated in the Pottery workshop were able to produce a number of impressive items under the watchful eye of local potter Bill Moore. Bill tested students to their limits getting them to produce a range of things from a door plate to a very ambitious tea pot. For the Drama workshops, students were provided with materials and props to improvise and perform their own plays and set pieces. |
