Home Testing - Students
Guidance for Parents
Home Testing for Students - from Sunday 28 March 2021
With effect from week commencing Sunday 28 March we will no longer be carrying out testing in school, instead students will be asked to undertake their tests at home.
During the week beginning Monday 22 March students were issued with their home-test kits (enough to last 4 weeks).
Students are encouraged to test twice a week, on a Sunday and Wednesday evening, starting on Sunday 28 March, to pick up any asymptomatic cases in the school community. Testing should also continue over the Easter holiday.
Parents will be required to report the results of their child's test to both the school and to the NHS. This will need to be done via the Parents' Portal, where there is also a link to the NHS reporting page.
Please click on the following link to read the instructions on how to go about reporting your child's test:

Households with primary school, secondary school and college age children, including childcare and support bubbles, can test themselves twice every week at home. Click here to find out more, and how to access tests for the adults in your household should you so wish.

Guidance for Staff
Staff are encouraged to undertake home testing twice a week (ideally 3-4 days apart) to identify asymptomatic cases of COVID-19.
You must report your test result to both the school and NHS Test and Trace.
If you have a positive result you must immediately self-isolate, inform the school by emailing email@example.com and call the absence line. Then book a PCR test to confirm the result.
This website includes demonstration videos and instructions on self-testing.
