FUNDRAISING

In a typical school year the Backwell School Association raises £6,000 to £8,000 from a wide range of events that take place every year. Some of these events include the Christmas Fair, Year 7 Barbecue, Lower School Discos and Summer Ball. Last year the committee produced a calendar featuring photographs of members of staff depicted in scenes from well known films which proved a huge success. 

 

A Summer Fayre was held last year on Saturday 27 June and a valiant attempt was made to break the Guinness Book of Records record for the most number of people to run a three-legged race.  Sadly we did not get the required number of people but staff students and parents gave it their best shot.

 

 

The BSA Committee relies on support from all BSA members to make these events a great success.
Over the last three years £20,000 was raised by the hard working Backwell School Association committee to buy a brand new minibus for the school and money was also raised for two Janome sewing machines for the textiles department.
