Summer School

Summer School 2009
Monday 27 July to Friday 31 July

Backwell School Extended Schools Team ran a week of varied sports and arts activities for children of all ages, families and members of the community for the first week of the summer break.

Sporting activities inlcuded Cricket and Soccer schools, as well as Cycle Training, Water Sports and Outdoor Activities.

 

A Dance and Cheerleading programme was back by popular demand, and Cooking, Painting, Pottery, Jewellery making and Light Animation ensured that nobody was bored this week!

 

It was definitely not a 'BBQ summer' week, but this did not seem to affect the fun.  Cricket and Football did have to move indoors for some of the time, but judging by the tired children at the end of the day, this did not affect the energy used!

 

Outdoor Pursuits went ahead without a hitch, and the cycling instructor believes that the students gained more experience because of the trying conditions. 

 

So all in all a good week of keeping active and gaining new skills was had by all.
