As you may be aware, it is an exam board requirement that students obtain their exam certificates as they will be needed for employment and training in the future (so they need to be stored safely once received).  There are three options for collection from us at the school:

1. We would like to invite former Year 13 students (who left us in July 2025) to attend a Certificate Presentation Evening on Tuesday 16 December 2025 from 5.30 pm.  Drinks and nibbles will be served and certificates will be handed out.

If you are unable to attend the certificate evening you can:

Collect your certificates in person on Thursday 8 January 2026 from the Exams Office next to Student Services at Backwell School between 10.00 am and 3.30 pm.  (Please note that we cannot give certificates to anyone other than the student unless we receive a signed letter from them authorising someone else to collect the certificates on their behalf).

3. Pay to have your certificates posted to your home address using the Royal Mail Tracking service.  Payment for this can be made via Exams_Shop.  Please note that if you choose this option, the certificates will be posted after Tuesday 16 December 2025 and only when payment has been received.  However, we strongly advise you to collect the certificates in person if possible, as there is always a risk of sending items by post and we cannot accept any liability for lost or missing items.

Please note that we are ultimately obliged to destroy certificates if they are not collected.  Students will incur a substantial fee if they need to request replacement documents from the examination boards in the future.

You are also warmly invited to the Backwell Music Department Winter Concert, which will be held in the School Theatre straight after the Certificate Presentation Evening on Tuesday 16 December 2025, at 7.00 pm.  This festive event will feature performances from our choirs, bands and ensembles.  The show is likely to run until about 9.00 pm and there will be an interval, where you will be able to buy drinks from the Backwell School Association bar.  Tickets will be available to purchase in advance from www.yourboxoffice.co.uk.
