Induction Day - Tuesday 2 July 2024
As part of our transition programme for students joining Year 7 at Backwell, we held our Induction Day on Tuesday 2 July 2024 from 9.00 am - 2.45 pm. The children engaged in a range of taster activities and met key members of staff, they also found out what tutor group they would be in.
Our Educational Support Department ran an induction session for vulnerable students (as identified by their primary school).

Second-hand uniform sale
The Backwell School Association (BSA) held a second-hand uniform sale on Thursday 4 July, 4.30 pm - 6.00 pm in the Sixth Form Theatre, prior to the induction session for parents (detailed above).
Items were £5 each and cash or card payments were accepted; all proceeds go to the BSA, which is the PTA charity raising money for Backwell School.

Explore 2024
SHINE holds three days of activities on the school site during the summer holidays: Wednesday 24 to Friday 26 July. These activities are exclusively for those joining us in Year 7 in September 2024.
The children will be encouraged to try new activities, make new friends and increase their confidence before joining us in September.
The cost is £98.00 per child for all three days. Places are limited to 120 pupils.
